Jake Ricke
(Bassist, DJ, Artist)
Originally from Ft. Lauderdale , Jake Ricke currently resides in beautiful New Orleans, LA. Entrenched in the jazz and live music scene. Jake is currently playing weekly around town and leading his own trio as well as various other projects musical and otherwise.
Raised in a varied and multicultural family, Jake acquired an affinity for music at and early age. Focused on individuality and freedom of expression his influences have varied into the worldwide music diaspora. Attending Dillard High School and then going on to study under the great Rodney Jordan at FSU before getting his masters degree at UNO in jazz studies. Jake has played with multiple great acts such as Doctor John, Leon Anderson, Joe Goldberg, Christien Bold and more while going on to receive honors such as Essentially Ellington winners, Swing Central and multiple scholarships.
Jake still currently resides in New Orleans today where he is deeply involved in the music scene, even including volunteering at the radio station WWOZ. He performs and supports others around town while leading his own trio and producing projects. He currently plans to produce and album of said trio and plans to further deepen his involvement in supporting other musicians.
